A veteran of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for over 30 years, John Cabeca established and leads the Silicon Valley USPTO. In this capacity, he serves the western region of the United States and works on a variety of domestic and international issues to carry out the strategic direction and advance the policies of the Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the USPTO. Focusing on actively engaging across his region, Director Cabeca also ensures the USPTO’s initiatives and programs are tailored to the needs of the region's unique ecosystem of industries and stakeholders
