A postgraduate in Electronic Engineering and a TEDx speaker, Dinesh has rich industry
experience spanning more than 30 years. Having started his career with Tata Group, he
worked his way to become the CEO of Mahindra Special Services Group [MSSG].
Mr. Pillai has more than 20 years of experience in the security and risk consulting domain.
He has immense knowledge and experience in Cyber Security, Information Security,
Business Continuity, GDPR, Physical Security, Digital Forensics, and Fraud Investigations
Management. Dinesh has extensive work experience in the Cyber and Information
Security Domain, including advising and approving IT networks and Cyber Security
systems. He has been instrumental in creating, implementing, and maintaining cyber &
information security policies, controls, and incident response plans for several
organizations and has advised several boards and senior management on compliance
related to the changing laws and regulations. His team has executed more than 250
projects of varying complexities of Cyber and Information Security.
Along with this, he has also completed at least 150+ projects related to fraud and forensics.
His clientele includes Tata Group, Aditya Birla Group, Godrej Group, Bombay Dyeing
Group, Arvind Group, P&O Ports, Piramal Group, RPG, HUL, Mondeliez, UB Group, SAP,
Infosys, Vodafone, Airtel, GMR, GVK, CESC, GAIL, several pharmaceutical companies and
most of the media companies.
As a subject matter expert, he was invited to several international and national
conferences to address Risk and Corporate Leadership challenges. His perspective on
Information and Cyber Risk, Business Innovation, Competitive Advantage, Business
Intelligence, and Sustaining Growth in a complex globalised world has been appreciated
across several forums.
Mr. Pillai conducts a talk series titled "CEO - Think like a criminal" (An insight into the
behavioural contradictions while using Digital Space).
Mr. Pillai was a member of the Joint Working Group on Public-Private Partnership on
Cyber Security headed by Deputy NSA, India, CII National Committee on Telecom and
Broadband, and ASSOCHAM National Council on Cyber Security.
He was the Chairman of the Safety and Security Committee of the Bombay Chamber of
Commerce and Industry in 2010, which addressed the security issues in Mumbai post the
terrorist attacks.
He is currently a member of the CII, BCCI, FICCI, and ASSOCHAM, actively participating in
events and projects in India and abroad.
